Oops!

So this month on Ye Old Facebook a friend of mine is hosting a Halloween drawing a day challenge. I naturally have forgotten my files at home 2 days in a row. So instead I bring you links of stuff I think are interesting!

Spiders Are Aweful

Yup!

Don't worry, I never have to go to the hospital, it just blows for a little while.

False Equivalence

Don't get me wrong, I believe that sexy characters in games and comics have their place. Sex is in human nature and there's nothing wrong with using our ideas in fantasy-based media/mediums. And I know not all comics and games are meant for all audiences, nor should they be. But this is the perfect comic to explain what it feels like to us girls to have basically all female antagonists and protagonists to be there sex-organs first and a person second.
Thanks Dave Willis, high-five your awesome comics man.

July Post

Howdy Folks,

I'm going to try and do a real post before the end of the month with pictures and everything, but for now you get this.

It's been sort of a busy month for me. I'm settling into a new job which while it isn't really an art job it's a good fit for me with good coworkers and a good boss. I occasionally even get to play with a golden retriever pup named Twister.

It is birthday season in my family and I'd like to put something visual up here before my birthday on the 1st. Also, one of the birthdays next month belongs to a very important person who passed away earlier this year and the family will be figuring out how to deal with that.

In the last 2 weeks I've attended a ladies tea party at an actual tea house with some of the best friends a girl can have. I've had an out of town visitor. And my wonderful boyfriend took me to a Postal Service concert at the Greek Theater in Berkeley which turned out to be very romantic.

Oh wait here's some visual evidence of my existence;

At Lovey' Tea Shoppe in Pacifica, CA.

Later cadets!

Ya'll know the drill. Go see the new comic!

Sadly, this is based on an actual grocery list of mine...it was the entire list.

Dice Roll 2

New Dice Roll over on the website.
It's not one I'm terribly proud of, except for the second panel, which I love. It was too ambitious an execution for a mediocre joke that's a month and a half late. I feel shame, but it's time to move forward. The next 3-6 comics are written or at least planned and they're all better than this one. They will also be more regularly posted.
So look forward to the multi-part installments of The Many Near Deaths of Aman the Wizard, he's the scared dude featured above.

Oh! You all should also checkout this comic Kickstarter by Abby Howard of Strip Search, The Last Halloween.

Making 'em Jump

I think a couple of these guys need to be revisited, but here are some character sketches for a jumping/coin collecting mobile game.

On a completely different and somewhat solemn note-
In this time between Mother's Day and Father's day and in conjunction with recent events in my own life I would like to give everyone a piece of advice to think on:
There are a finite amount of mom-hugs and dad-advice for all of us, take what you can get while you can get it.

On Mother's Day

Sometimes my brother says stuff to mess with me and generally everyone around him.

Have a happy Mother's Day.

Rolling the Dice

Hello Interwebs!
Still slowly working on the site, but there are now 2 comics up. On that topic I'm slowly realizing that I'll need to build a site that is actually laid out for webcomics, while I like my wix site it is just not meant for that format. Does this mean I'll have to completely re-rebuild my site again? Probably eventually, but for now I'm just looking for a stopgap I can loop into my existing site. I'm still new to doing this stuff and while I'll eventually have a whole polished product of a site I'm still experimenting with what I want that to be.

But now for the fun stuff...
 SCIENCE!
You can watch the video here.

 On playing D&D...

Sometimes you have to get weird with new D&D campaigns. Special thanks to Marc for being the featured Council Member/DM and co-writing this.

Progression

After a couple failed attempts I am finally reworking my portfolio site. No, not the one on the right of this page, a new one, THIS ONE. It's coming along, but still has a long way to go. I think the hard part is over though.
It looks better and is easier to navigate then my previous attempts. Eventually this blog will be remade in a similar fashion.

Here are some trees.

And here are 4 things I think are cool!

(1)  There is Stephen Silver's Character Design Shuffle app, I haven't tried it yet, but it looks like a great tool for artists suffering from a block. I originally read about it on (2) Micheal Bill's blog and he seemed to do well with it.
The awesome team over at (3)Penny Arcade made a reality web-show called (4)Strip Search. Basically it is America's Next Top Web Comic and I love it. It features a couple of artists I've been reading for years.

That's all for now.

As Promised!

2 posts in 1 week? That's right, the world IS flat again and the end times are near.

So here is a thing I did, it's Julia Child fighting a salad monster!
I want to hang this in the kitchen. Yup.

So, I was also going post a comic about working out, but I was fussing with this for much longer than I thought I was going to. I guess I'll try and get the a comic up next week.

A couple of years ago for Christmas my parents got me this wonderful planter that is shaped like a giant tea cup, I'll post a picture eventually. Well the poor thing had been sitting around for over a year until I went to Trader Joes and got 3 little herb garden starters, which I then slowly killed over about 3 months. Let us not focus on the negative.
I then tried growing garlic in it. The garlic rapidly grew way too tall to keep inside and had to be transplanted and moved outside. So now what to do with the giant tea cup planter? I've started lemon seedlings, some of which have not survived and I'm trying for limes and grape fruit in smaller containers(no sprouts yet). If any of them survive long enough I'll bonsai them and post pictures. My success rate with plants has been bouncing wildly from earth-mother to plant-murderer, so we'll see.

I need to re-invigorate my healthy living initiative. More on that in the next post.

Caperucita Roja!

This was just a fun project to put myself to. Just a fake e-book cover for "Little Red Riding Hood" in Spanish. I had fun doing this and I have a couple other things coming down the pipe soon. So enjoy!

Aside from that I've been trying to re-work my website, but I don't have a very clear vision of what I want yet, still it's coming.

As far as life outside this blog, I've started a regular work out routine with a dear dear friend. And god bless her for keeping me going to our workouts because I have totally been sabotaging myself with junk food...so that's gotta stop. It has got me thinking about overall health and not just the need to not be the chubby-girl, though. On that note, expect my next post to be soon and food/health related.

I am also addicted to Pinterest. The first step to recovery is admission to a problem, right?

Later Gaters!
